The SPSP Fellowship Committee is currently accepting nominations for APA Division 8 Fellows who are currently Fellows in another APA division. If you are applying as a first-time APA Fellow, you must apply through APA by January 11, 2026.

To be eligible as a Division 8 Fellow, you must:

  • Hold a doctoral degree with a psychological dissertation component
  • Be a current member of APA Division 8
  • Be an APA Fellow in another Division
  • Have at least ten years of postdoctoral experience
  • Be actively engaged in advancing psychology
  • Provide evidence of unusual and outstanding contributions to the field, with specific relevance to      Personality and/or Social Psychology (with specific relevance to Personality and/or Social Psychology)

 Submission Process

  • SPSP coordinates nomination materials for Division 8.
  • Submit your application via the SPSP submission portal by April 20, 2026. One letter of support must also be submitted by this date.
  • Final approval is made by the SPSP Fellows Committee and forwarded to APA. These applications do not require review by the APA Fellows Committee or the Division 8 Fellows Chair.

We’re excited to announce the Fresh Perspectives in Personality & Social Psychology: Early Career Virtual Mini-Conference! This half-day event will showcase dynamic talks from early career scholars, providing an engaging platform for fresh ideas and research. The event will feature a mix of 5-minute data blitzes, 15-minute presentations,  and 30-minute professional development sessions, offering diverse formats to suit different types of research and career insights.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:
We invite early career scholars (within 6 years post-PhD) to submit their work for this exciting event. Whether you’re presenting cutting-edge research or sharing valuable career development tips, we encourage you to apply! We welcome research on any topic related to personality and social psychology. Here are the available formats:

  • 5-Minute Data Blitzes: Quick-fire presentations to highlight key data insights.
  • 15-Minute Presentations: Share your latest research findings in a standard 15-minute virtual talk.
  • 30-Minute Professional Development Sessions: Offer advice or discuss strategies to navigate career challenges in academia and beyond (should be focused on topics meaningful to early career scholars).

This is a fantastic opportunity to network with fellow researchers, gain visibility, and contribute to the vibrant early career community.
